Yet amidst all this loveliness, perhaps today you feel under weather. You are melancholic, distressed, or even lonely, as if nobody is there to listen to your pain. You can't quite put your finger on it, but you are most definitely not "okay". Circumstances change, friends walk away, or you even turn your back on this whole Christian thing for a while. Because you tried to talk to Jesus, He just wouldn't listen. You asked for a miracle, but you got misery. What did you do wrong? Did He simply get fed up with you and replaced you with better, holier people? One thing's for sure, you're absolutely confused and angry.
Dear friends, these feelings make Satan jump of joy. He relishes in our angst, and he loves seeing us distressed and sorrowful. It's a thrill for him to mess with our mind and to convince us that God has abandoned us.
But you know what? Our God, our very Saviour, is 100,000x (and beyond!) stronger than this trash talk. In His love and power we find strength, courage, guidance, boldness, and infinite assurance that we are secure in the safe haven of His hand and that He is not leaving us- not today, not tomorrow, not ever!
There are no problems too heavy for Jesus. When you're lonely, talk to your everlasting Friend. When you're burdened, leave it all to your Counsellor. When you're sad, turn to your Father. His ear remains attentive, His heart abounds in love, and His power is present in every situation.
Don't forget that YOU ARE SO INCREDIBLY LOVED! ♥
Romans 8:37 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
Romans 5:8 "But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
1 John 4:4 "Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."
1 John 4:19 "We love because He first loved us."
1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you."
With love from your sister,
P.S.: TOMORROW IS GIVEAWAY TIME! Who can guess what occasion it's for? ^o^

Thanks for the post. So true!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever watched "Prayer Bear"? Granted, it's for younger kids, but there's an awesome song in the first video: "If you've ever wished that you could have a friend". I haven't found it on the Internet though. :(
Blessings! Have a wonderful day. Thanks again for the post!

I'm happy you liked it! :) And yes, I believe I have watched "Prayer Bear"! It used to pass at my church, but I didn't understand I thing since it was in English (and I only spoke French then), haha! It was so cute, thanks for reminding me!
DeleteGod bless you Sofia!! ♥
We still have some videos and my younger brothers watch them from time to time. And it's like one of my childhood movies. :) Along with Veggie Tales and Pooh Bear, etc. Memories.... What movies did you watch as a kid?
DeleteFrench? Neat.
Blessings!

Aww yes, all these good memories! :D Hmm... Growing up I really liked the Berenstain Bears, Caillou, and The Big Comfy Couch! Have you watched any of them?
DeleteI watched (but mostly read, I think) the Berenstain Bears, but haven't heard of the other two. :) What movies do you like to watch now?
Deletehttp://teensliveforjesus.blogspot.ru
Did you?? The Berenstain Bears books were awesome, haha! Well... I've always been inclined towards older movies (since my dad is such a great cinematography connaisseur :P), and so I think some of my favourite movies are Modern Times or The Great Dictator by Charlie Chaplin. Joan of Arc (1948) and The Hiding Place were phenomenal too! But I also looove How To Train Your Dragon... In other words, I'm obsessed with it!
DeleteWhat about you? What kinds of movies do you watch? :)
Yeah, we still have a few of the books - about missing school and not doing the homework and about their temporary obsession with some kind of toy. The second one's really funny. :)
DeleteHaha, it was a good movie, though I'm definitely nor obsessed. :)
Cool! I think I've only watched one Charlie Chapman movie in my life. :) But it was a funny one. And I've read that there's been a bunch of Joan of Arc movies. Don't think I've heard about the other ones.
We watch family movies mostly, like Bedtime Stories (which we've watched a BUNCH of times), Santa Clause (with Tim Allen), Cheaper by the Dozen, etc. Out of old ones, I've only watched the three movies in Back to the Future once and they were so so cool.
How was your Christmas? Are you ready for the new year (is it just me or did this year go by very very fast?)? Blessings!

Hello Emie!
ReplyDeleteThis was the first blog of yours that I read. And I'm totally surprised (Yes, in a good way :P). Are you seriously 15 (Haha)? Because what you wrote requires a mature mind (Which I still lack, I guess). Your writing style is really inspiring and trust me, I was smiling the whole time reading it. You words touched me even though I'm a non-Christian and have a different opinion about God. But having said that, I'm really glad that you have a clear vision about faith in a world where faith has become so blurry that we've forgot the difference between faith and rules. I'm sure that you'll keep inspiring people through your amazing blog. May God Bless you.
Regards.
Wow, thank you so much for your encouraging comment! I’m beyond happy to hear that a non-Christian is taking the time to check out my blog! :) You’re right, the line between faith and rules often gets blurred, and that’s very sad… Faith is knowing that God will always be with us no matter what, whereas relying solely on rules keep us fearful that we will never be able to please Him.
DeleteI think Ephesians 2:8-9 says it so beautifully: "God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”
I hope that you continue to read my blog and discover new things about Jesus with me, it is truly an honour! :D
God bless you,
-Emie
