Easy Dinner: Taco Bisquick Bake

¡Hola! :) Let me tell you about a super easy and speedy dinner recipe: a taco bake! Cheesy, flavourful, and fresh... A very good alternative to traditional tacos!

If you so happen to have a passionate hatred towards cheese like me, cheesy is not always good! :P But do not despair, you can always halve the recipe into two separate dishes to bake if you prefer.

Taco Bisquick Bake
Ingredients:
3 lbs. ground beef
1 tablespoon (or more) taco seasoning
1 white onion, thinly sliced
1 can (250ml) corn niblets
 3 cups tomato sauce (unseasoned)
4 cups homemade dry Bisquick mix (I made it with butter and whole wheat flour)
2 cups milk
4 eggs
1-1 1/2 cups shredded Mexican cheese (you're allowed to go crazy on this one)

Fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
Salsa
Sour cream
Diced tomatoes
Lettuce (We didn't feel like topping the bake with lettuce, but it'd be good!)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF and grease a 9x13 casserole dish.

Add sliced onions in an oiled, preheated pan and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add ground beef and taco seasoning (with salt and pepper, if needed) and sauté until meat is fully cooked.

Mix Bisquick, milk, and eggs in a medium sized bowl.

Add corn niblets and tomato sauce to meat mixture, and pour into casserole dish. Top with Bisquick dough and shredded cheese, then bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes.

Serve with chopped tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, and fresh cilantro from the garden! :)

That's it! Dinner couldn't get easier (and yummier!) than that. Please remember that you can always alter the ingredient amounts to suit your family/guests better. I hope that you enjoy this quick little recipe, and I will try to add more recipes soon, hopefully lunch! What do you think?

Let me know how this dish turned out for you! :)

In all sisterly love,
